The fifth generation of Chevrolet Nova was introduced for the 1975 model year. The Nova was a series of compact cars that prior to 1969 had been known as the Chevy II. This generation of Nova was available as a coupe, sedan, or hatchback, and featured a range of engine options, including inline four, inline six, V6, and V8 units. The most notable trim levels were the premium Nova LN (which became known as the Concours), and the sporty Super Sport (SS), that was offered for 1975, and then renamed the Nova Rally. Chevrolet ended production of the Nova in 1979, and replaced the model with the Chevrolet Citation. In 1985, Chevrolet reintroduced the Nova name for a range of subcompact badge-engineered Toyota Sprinters that comprised the Sixth Generation Chevrolet Nova.
