The second generation of Chevrolet Monte Carlo was introduced for the 1973 model year. This new generation saw updated styling, moving the Monte Carlo away from the hardtop body style. The second generation Monte Carlo was offered as a rear wheel drive, two door coupe, and was available with a range of V8 engines. Chevrolet produced the second generation until 1977, when they replaced it with the Third Generation Chevrolet Monte Carlo.
