The Cord 812 was introduced in 1937. The 812 was largely an updated 810, and was available with the same convertible, sedan, and phaeton body styles and the same 4.7L V8 engine as its predecessor. The 812 saw the addition of a notable 170 hp supercharged version that featured distinctive chromed external exhaust pipes. Due to the poor sales of Cord cars, many 810 cars were re-numbered and sold as 812s. Production of the Cord 812 ended in 1937, when the Cord Corporation folded.
