DKW introduced their first motorcycles in 1919 as one of their main products. In the 1930s, DKW pioneered the use of two-stroke engines in competition, achieving multiple victories at the Isle of Man TT and other European races. In the post-war period, its technologies influenced racing motorcycles from MZ and other brands. Although DKW motorcycle production ended in 1977, its heritage lives on in the modern motorcycling industry.
