The Dodge Charger R/T was a sporty variant of the 6th Gen Dodge Charger that was introduced for the 2006 model year. The famed R/T (Road/Track) name was reborn for this generation of Charger, in this instance denoting a sporty performance model, although not at the top of the Charger range. These sedans were powered by a 5.7L Hemi V8 engine, which was originally rated at 340hp, but when fitted with the Performance Pack, a total of 350hp was generated. For the 2009 model year, output was raised again, this time to 368hp (372hp w/ Performance Pack). Power from the engine was sent to the rear wheels through a 5 speed automatic transmission. Production of the 6th Gen Charger R/T ended in 2010, but the model series continued in the next generation as the 7th Gen Dodge Charger R/T.
