The Dodge D Series trucks were mildly redesigned in the spring of 1965 giving birth to the 2nd generation in the series. Updates for mid-'65 included the use of 2 headlights instead of 4, a wider tailgate, and the replacement of the A-series engines with the updated LA series. Models included the D100, D200, and heavier duty trucks such as the D500 and D600. The second generation ended in 1971 with the introduction of the third generation D series for model year 1972.
