The D series was a line of pickup trucks that was sold by Dodge from 1961 to 1980, over three distinct generations, until it was rebadged Dodge Ram in 1981. The Dodge Ram would continue to use the same basic design of the D series until 1994. The more common models in the series are the D100 and D200 pickups which had carried over from the previous C series generation. Some are also known as the W series which had 4x4 as opposed to the 4x2 of the D series. The first generation existed between 1961 and 1965. The second was from the spring of 1965 to 1971, and the third from 1972 to 1980.
