The Ford Anglia was a series of small family cars introduced in 1939 and built by Ford UK. The Anglia was offered in saloon body styles, but panel van variants were also produced. The Australian market Anglia was also built in tourer, roadster, and coupe utility body styles. Ford built the Anglia in four main generations: E04A (1939-1948), E494A (1949-1953), 100E (1953-1959), and 105E (1959-1967). Regardless of the generation, the Anglia was always a front engined, rear wheel drive car powered by an inline four engine. Production of the Ford Anglia ended in 1967, and the model was replaced by the Ford Escort (Europe).
