The Ford F-3 was a 3/4-Ton heavy duty regular cab truck that was part of the 1948-1950 Ford F-Series. The F-3 was most familiar as an 8' pickup bed, but an express and a platform/stake were available. Although called a heavy-duty 3/4 ton, the actual payload capacity of the F-3 pickup was nearer to the 1-1/2-ton trucks. The interior was shared with the F-1, as was an inline flathead six-cylinder and a flathead V8 mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Notable changes from the F-2 included 3-spoke, 18" diameter steering wheel, double-acting shock absorbers front, and a 20-gallon fuel tank. The transmission featured higher gearing for increased payload. Ford restyled the F-3 truck in 1951.
