The North American Mk1 Ford Focus was introduced in 2000. It was available in several body styles: 3-door hatchback (ZX3), 5-door hatchback (ZX5), 4-door sedan (ZX4), and wagon (ZXW). Versions included the Standard Variants LX, SE, ZTS, and ZTW, as well as the Saleen and the sporty SVT. This Focus was noted for its agile handling, safety and low cost, making it one of Ford's most successful compact cars in the North American market. The Mk1 North American Focus was produced until 2007 and was replaced by the Mk2 North American Ford Focus.
