The Ford Mustang GLX was a luxury trim level for the 3rd Generation Mustang, available between 1982 and 1983. The GLX package replaced the Mustang Guia from a year earlier. The GLX featured additional options such as dual remote side-view mirrors, unique exterior trim, upgraded door panels with faux-wood inserts, and optional leather seats. The GLX is most commonly found in a Convertible body style, with some built with T-top's or as Hatchback (a/k/a fastback or liftback). Several engine options were available between the two years. In 1982 a four-cylinder, an inline six-cylinder, and a 4.2L or 5.0L V8. 1983 gave customers additional choices of a V6 and a four-cylinder turbo. The following year the GLX and GL packages would be combined into the Mustang LX trim level.
