The Ford Mustang '50 Years Limited Edition' was a variant of the 6th Gen Mustang GT that was one-year-only special version released to celebrate the original debut of the Ford Mustang. The 50 Years Limited Edition is not to be confused with Mustang GT's that featured the 50 Years Appearance Package. The 50 Year Limited Edition was availabled in either coupe or convertible body style, and was exclusively available in Wimbledon White or Kona Blue, along with additional chrome details and lovered rear quarter windows. Unique staggered, Y-spoke wheels drew inspiration from the original First Generation Mustang. The front and rear seats were upholstered in two-tone cashmere, and black leather and machined trimmed trim lined the dashboard. The 5.0L V8 engine produced 420hp sending power to the rear wheels through a six-speed automatic or manual transmission. This was the only Mustang to feature the GT Performance Pack with an automatic transmission. In addition to a numbered '50 Years Limited Edition' plaque on the dash (numbered 1 to 1,964), owners received an owner's guide in a leather portfolio. The 1,964 samples made echoed the 1964 model year debut of the original Mustang.
