The Ford Pinto was a series of subcompact cars introduced for the 1971 model year. The Pinto was Ford's first compact model, and was offered as a hatchback, two door station wagon, or two door fastback. Over the course of production, the Pinto was available with three inline four engines, as well as one 2.8L V6 option. Starting in 1975, Ford also sold a rebadged version of the Pinto known as the Mercury Bobcat. Production of the Ford Pinto ended in 1980.
