The GMC Caballero was a series of coupe utilities introduced for the 1978 model year. The Caballero was the successor to the GMC Sprint and was largely an upmarket version of the Chevrolet El Camino. The Caballero was built on the GM A-Body from 1978 until 1981, and on the GM G-Body from 1982 until 1987. A selection of V6 and V8 engines were available on the Caballero, as was the notable 'Diablo' package. Production of the GMC Caballero ended in 1987.
