The second generation of GMC Sonoma was introduced for the 1994 model year. The Sonoma, which had previously been named the S-15 in its previous generation, was the upmarket version of the Chevrolet S-10. The second generation Sonoma was offered as a compact pickup truck, and was available with a 2.2L inline four or a 4.3L V6 engine. Production of the GMC Sonoma ended in 2004, and the model was replaced by the GMC Canyon.
