The GMC Sprint was a series of coupe utilities introduced for the 1971 model year. The Sprint was largely an upmarket version of the Chevrolet El Camino, and was built on the GM A-Body. GMC offered the Sprint in Standard and Custom trim levels, and with a selection of one inline six engine, or four V8 options. The inline six option was only available on Standard trimmed examples. Production of the GMC Sprint lasted until 1977, when it was replaced by the GMC Caballero.
