The first iteration of the NA1 Honda NSX to be released was the coupe. Introduced for the 1991 model year, these fixed-roof sports cars were powered by an all-aluminum 3.0L V6 engine that was mounted transversely behind the driver. This engine, which was equipped with Honda's VTEC valve timing system, was paired to a 5 speed manual or automatic transmission options to send drive to the rear wheels. Production of the NA1 Honda NSX Coupe lasted until 1998, when it was replaced with the updated NA2 Honda NSX 'Pre-Facelift' Coupe.
