The fifth generation of the Jaguar XJ was introduced for the 1995 model year. Known as the XJ300, the fifth generation of XJ was powered by a range of inline six engines as well as a V12 option. The XJ300 series luxury sedans featured variants such as the Vanden Plas, Sovereign, and the XJ12. The XJ300 was in production until 1997, and was replaced by the Jaguar XJ308.
