In 2001, the Lamborghini Murciélago was introduced to the world. It was the first car produced by Lamborghini under new Audi ownership, as well as the first flagship car designed without any Marcello Gandini involvement. Produced until 2010, the all wheel drive Murciélago was powered by several versions of Lamborghini's V12 engine. Initially offered as a coupe, the car as also offered as a roadster starting in 2004. Variants such as the Base Model, Roadster, 40th Anniversary Edition, LP640, LP640 Roadster, LP650-4 Roadster, and LP670-4 SV are notable examples produced.
