As a successor to the Delta HF Integrale 16v, Lancia introduced a heavily revised Delta HF, which became better known as the HF Integrale "Evoluzione." The Delta Evo was a five-door hatchback. Lancia sold the cars in red, white, or blue as standard colors; other colors were available at a cost. The body was accentuated with bulging wheel arches, but it was still unassuming. Lurking underneath its body is a highly tuned performance machine. An upgraded steering rack and strengthened control arms gave the car even better handling. Power was sent to all four wheels via a Fiat-created front transverse-mounted turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine. The Lancia harnessed the 210hp through a five-speed manual gearbox. To pay homage to the rally race victories of the Delta EVO, Lancia built a limited edition race-dressed car in the style of the winning race team "Martini 6." Considered by some as a "Halo" car, only 310 examples were built. The Evo 1 was succeeded by the final iteration of the Delta in 1993, the Evo II.
