The Land Rover Freelander was a compact SUV introduced in 1997. The Freelander was sold in two generations: the Freelander 1 (1997-2006), or the Freelander 2 (2006-2014). The Freelander 2 was known as the LR2 in North America and the Middle East. The Freelander was available as a front wheel or four wheel drive car and was in production until 2014.
