The first generation of Lincoln Capri was introduced for the 1952 model year. The Capri name had originally used to designate a trim level for the Lincoln Cosmopolitan, but starting in 1952 became its own model. The first generation Capri was available as a coupe, convertible, or sedan, and was fitted with a choice of two V8 engines. The first generation Capri was built until 1955 and was replaced by the Second Generation Lincoln Capri.
