Created to be a mid level model for the Lincoln lineup, the first generation Town Car was largely available as a four door sedan, although a two door version was built in 1981. Town Cars were often converted for use as executive limousines. The first generation Town Car was powered by a 4.9L V8 engine and was produced until 1989, when it was replaced by the Second Generation Lincoln Town Car.
