As an evolution of the prior year 1992 Special Edition Miata, for the 1993 model year, Mazda would introduce a so called "Limited Edition" variant of the Mazda MX-5 Miata. Limited to 1,800* units for the US and Canada, the 1993 Limited Edition was painted in black with red leather interior, and featured sport suspension, front and rear spoilers, rear skirt, and came standard with air conditioning, headrest speakers and 14-inch BBS wheels. Apart from the suspension, the 1993 Limited Edition was mechanically similar to the Base Model of the time. For the 1994 model year, it would evolve into the Mazda MX-5 Miata M-Edition. *Production numbers vary by source.
