The Mazda MX-5 Miata LS was a variant of the NB generation of Miata's, available for model years 2000 through 2005, sitting between the Base Model and the Special Edition. Power was provided by the same 1.8 liter DOHC inline-four found in the base model, rated at 140 to 142 hp, driving the rear wheels through a manual transmission or an optional automatic. The LS trim initially featured a limited-slip differential, Bose stereo system, tan interior with tan leather seats, and a tan soft top - black leather became available in 2003, and blue leather in 2004. Other options available were an upgraded suspension and appearance packages, among others.
