The Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster was a high performance version of the AMG GT Roadster that debuted for the 2017 model year. The GT C Roadster features various upgrades and electronic systems which are aimed at improving performance, as well as an electronically controlled limited-slip differential and additional driving modes. The GT C was equipped with Mercedes-AMG's M178 engine, which was tuned to generate 550hp and 502 lb ft of torque. Drive was sent to the rear wheels through AMG's SPEEDSHIFT 7 speed dual clutch automatic transmission. A limited edition version of the GT C Roadster, known as the Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster Edition 50, was offered at the beginning of production to celebrate 50 years of AMG.
