In 1961, Mercedes-Benz introduced the W112. A top of the line model range, the W112 was based on the W111, but fitted with Mercedes' larger and more powerful M189 3.0L inline 6 engine. The W112 series of cars also featured a more luxuriously appointed interior, as well as a greater range of standard options such as pneumatic suspension, an automatic transmission, and power steering. The W112 was available as one variant, the 300SE. Three body styles were offered: 300SE Sedan, 300SE Coupe, and a 300SE Cabriolet. The sedan was built from 1961 until 1965, while the Coupe and Cabriolet were produced from 1962 until 1967.
