The Mercury Cyclone was introduced for the 1964 model year. The Cyclone was initially a performance verison of the Mercury Comet known as the Comet Cyclone, but starting in 1968, the Cyclone became a separate model. The Cyclone was built in four generations: 1st Gen (1964-1965), 2nd Gen (1966-1967), 3rd Gen (1968-1969), and 4th Gen (1970-1971).
