The Mini Mk III was introduced in 1969. During this period, cars built by Mini were branded as 'Mini' as opposed to earlier generations that featured Austin or Morris badging. This new generation of Mini only featured a brief period of Cooper S contruction, as the sporty variant was being phased out. The Mk III Mini Cooper S was fitted with a 1275cc inline four engine, and was built until 1971. A total of 1570 total examples were produced.
