Morgan introduced the sixth generation of 4/4 for the 1969 model year. This new generation of 4/4 is known as the 1600 due to its use of various 1.6L inline four engines. In addition to the engine, a four seat roadster body style was available as well as the standard two seater roadster. Over the course of its production, various Ford and Fiat 1.6L inline four engines were used, ranging in power from 70hp to 100hp. Production of the 4/4 1600 ended in 1993, when Morgan introduced the 4/4 1800.
