The third generation of Morris Minor was introduced in 1952. Known as the Series II, this latest generation of Minor saw the model go through a substantial update. Alongside various improvements to the drivetrain and chassis, the Series II was fitted with a 803cc inline four engine that generated 30hp which was sent to the rear wheels via a 4 speed manual transmission. Like the previous generation, two door saloon, four door saloon, and two door convertible body styles were offered. As well as these established body styles, Morris introduced an estate version known as the Traveller. These estates featured wood panelling on its sides, in the style of American Woody Wagons. Production of the Minor Series II lasted until 1956, when it was replaced by the Morris Minor 1000.
