The Datsun 2000 Roadster (chassis code SR311 or SRL311), also known as Datsun Sports or Fairlady was sold alongside the Datsun 1600 model, looking outwardly very similar. The big change comes from a 135hp 2.0L overhead cam four cylinder engine (U20) paired to a 5-speed manual, versus the 1.6L pushrod model paired to a 4-speed. The 2000 could also be fitted with a Datsun Competition 150hp upgrade, which included larger Mikuni/Solex carburetors, a large capacity aluminum oil pan, and a more-aggressive camshaft.
