The first generation of Packard Six was introduced for the 1925 model year. The Packard Six was the successor to the Packard Single Six, and was a range of entry level luxury cars. The first generation Six as offered on two wheelbase lengths, and was available in a wide range of open and closed body styles. Power for this new model came from a 4.7L inline six engine. Packard featured a complicated naming system at the time, featuring the series (year of production, i.e. 1 - first, 2 - 2nd), and the last two digits of the wheelbase length (126 = 26, 133 = 33), so a 526 was a fifth series short wheelbase example. The first generation Six was produced until 1928. The Packard Six was reintroduced in 1937 as the Second Generation Packard Six.
