The first generation of Packard Twin Six was introduced for the 1916 model year. The Twin Six was powered by a 7.0L V12 engine, and was available with short or long wheelbases. A wide variety of body styles were offered, including open and closed versions as well as coachbuilt examples. Production of the first generation Twin Six ended in 1923. Packard would use the Twin Six name again for the 1932 Packard Twin Six, a greatly evolved model which was the predecessor of the Packard Twelve.
