The Pontiac Bonneville was a series of cars introduced for the 1958 model year. Originally, the Bonneville name appeared in 1957 as a performance focused convertible variant of the 2nd Gen Star Chief. Bonnevilles were full-sized, with the exception of a brief period of mid-size between 1982–1986. These cars were known as the Parisienne in Canada until 1981, and its platform partner, the Grand Ville, are some of the largest Pontiacs ever built. The Pontiac Bonneville was built in ten generations: 1st Gen (1958), 2nd Gen (1959-1960), 3rd Gen (1961-1964), 4th Gen (1965-1970), 5th Gen (1971-1976), 6th Gen (1977-1981), 7th Gen (1982-1986), 8th Gen (1987-1991), 9th Gen (1992-1999), 10th Gen (2000-2005).
