The Pontiac Grand Prix Model J was the standard variant for the 3rd Gen Grand Prix. Introduced for the 1969 model year, the 3rd Gen Model J was only available in a two door hardtop bodystyle. These sporty coupes were fitted as standard with a 400ci V8 engine, although a 428ci was optional. The majority of cars were equipped with a 3 speed automatic, but 3 and 4 speed manual transmissions were offered over the course of production. Regardless of transmission, drive was sent to the rear wheels. Production of the 3rd Gen Pontiac Grand Prix Model J ended in 1972.
