The second generation of Pontiac Star Chief was introduced for the 1955 model year. The second generation Star Chief featured an updated body, and was fitted with a range of V8 engines. A notable Star Chief variant was the Star Chief Custom Bonneville. The second generation Star Chief was available in a variety of body styles and was in production until 1957, when it was replaced by the Third Generation Pontiac Star Chief.
