The Pontiac Ventura was first released in 1960. Built using the same platform as the Pontiac Bonneville, the Ventura was offered as a sedan or coupe. The first iteration of the Ventura was a short lived model, only sold until 1961. Starting in 1962, the Ventura name became a trim option for the Pontiac Catalina.
