Singer Vehicle Design launched its “911 reimagined” program in 2009, transforming the Porsche 964 (produced from 1989 to 1994) into a platform for bespoke, performance-driven reinterpretations of the classic 911. Each build begins with a fully stripped 964 chassis, reengineered with carbon-fiber bodywork, long-hood styling, center-mounted fuel and oil caps, and meticulously developed mechanical systems. Powertrains include custom naturally aspirated flat-sixes (ranging from 3.6 to 4.0 L, producing up to 500 hp) and, in extreme variants like the DLS Turbo, twin-turbocharged 3.8 L units generating over 700 hp. Engine development has involved key partners including Ed Pink Racing Engines—renowned for building bespoke air-cooled powerplants—as well as Cosworth and Williams Advanced Engineering for high-performance applications. Every example features a six-speed manual gearbox, motorsport-grade suspension and braking systems, and a hand-finished interior tailored to each commissioner’s vision. Singer has elevated its reimagined 911 into an icon of modern coachbuilding, blending heritage, innovation, and technology—legitimizing the “restomod” genre and setting a new benchmark for what these modern classics can achieve.
