The Studebaker Gran Turismo Hawk was the last variant of the Hawk Series to be introduced. The Gran Turismo Hawk, also known as the GT Hawk, was introduced for the 1962 model year, and was only offered in an updated coupe body style. Initially, the GT Hawk was only available with a 4.7L V8 engine offered in two states of tune, but starting in 1963, the R-Series engines used in the Studebaker Avanti became available as options. As Studebaker closed its South Bend factory in late 1963, the 1964 model year was the last year the Gran Turismo Hawk was available. By the end of production, a total of 15,736 examples had been built.
