The fourth and final generation of Studebaker President was introduced for the 1955 model year. The President name had dormant since 1942, but this new generation revived the name and returned it to the top of Studebaker's model lineup. Over the course of its production, the fourh generation was offered in a variety of body styles including two door sedan, coupe, station wagon, four door sedan, and the most notable, the two door hardtop. The sleek hardtop body style, known as the Speedster, was only offered for 1955 model year, and is highly sought after by collectors. This V8-powered generation of President remained in production until 1958, when the model was discontinued.
