The Suzuki Alto is a family of ultra compact economy cars that was introduced for the 1980 model year. The Alto has been offered in a variety of hatchback body styles, and has been built across eight generations. Over the course of production, the Alto has been powered by inline 3 and inline 4 engine options, including naturally aspirated or turbocharged variants. These engines were available with manual, automatic, or CVT transmission options, which were coupled to front wheel drive or all wheel drive configurations.
