The 3rd generation (A70 chassis) Toyota Supra Turbo, introduced for model year 1987, was offered with a 3.0-liter turbocharged 7M-GTE inline six producing 232 horsepower. Both five-speed manual and four-speed automatic transmissions were offered, along with a Coupe or a Sport Roof (semi-convertible / targa) body styles. For the JDM market, the car was also availalble with a 2.0L Twin-Turbo I6 (1G-GTE) or the 2.5L Twin-Turbo I6 (1JZ-GTE). The A70 Turbo was succeeded by the A80 Toyota Supra Twin Turbo for model year 1993.
