The third generation of Toyota Tacoma debuted for the 2016 model year. Model variants include the Access Cab or Double Cab, with a short (5ft) or long (6ft) bed. These trucks were offered in rear wheel drive or all wheel drive configuration with two engine options. A 2.7L I4 was the base engine, while a 3.5L V6 was optional. Both engines were available with a manual or automatic transmission. Notable trims offered include the SR5, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, and the TRD Pro. Production of the 3rd Gen Tacoma lasted until 2023, when it was replaced by the 4th Gen Toyota Tacoma.
