The T140 was introduced in 1973 as the second and last model of the 1st Gen Triumph Bonneville. It featured a 750cc parallel-twin engine designed to respond to Japanese competition and the demand for greater power. Throughout its life, it received technical improvements such as electric starter on some models, disc brakes instead of drums, a 5 speed gearbox and ergonomic adjustments. Although it maintained the classic Bonneville design with its stylized tank and retro finish, its reliability and build quality were affected by the downturn in British manufacturing, which limited its success compared to more modern rivals. Despite this, the T140 brought Triumph's classic era to a dignified close and is today valued as a collector's bike that reflects the last spirit of traditional British motorcycling. The Triumph Bonneville T140 was produced until 1983.
