A panel van was also part of Volkswagen´s Type 2 T2 variant offer. The Volkswagen Type 2 T2 panel van replaced the T1 panel van for the 1967 model year. Offered as a delivery van without side windows or rear seats, a walk thru van without side windows or rear seats and cargo doors on both sides or a delivery van with raised roof (German: Hochdach), was powered by different flat-four engines, driving the rear wheels. The T2 panel van was built until 1979 in Germany, 1994 in Mexico and 2013 in Brazil. The Type 2 Panel van was superseded by the Type 2 T3 panel for the 1979 model year.
