Classic Car Market Update: November 2020

November 2020 continued the rapid pace for the quarter with 11% growth to $89m in sales*, relative to roughly $80m from November 2019. Keep in mind that November 2019 included a big auction by RM Sotheby’s in Abu Dhabi, which alone clocked in over $30m in sales. It doesn’t matter how you slice it, the classic car market continues to be sizzling hot, right on par with the stock market.

It’s worth mentioning that high-dollar sales are a common occurrence on Bring a Trailer these days. They scored 8 of the top 10 sales for the month, an impressive achievement. God bless the Internet.

Market of the Month: Porsche 993

If you’ve been following along with our collectible market guides to newer generations of the Porsche 911 – specifically the 996 and 997 cars – we’ve been hinting at the major change to Stuttgart tradition that came with those two models. That change to water-cooled engines, spurred by emissions regulations and market expectations of higher performance that could not be both managed by the classic air-cooled powerplant, makes the 993 generation (built between roughly 1994 and 1998) the last in the line of the “classic” Porsche experience for many enthusiasts.

Learn more about this Porsche in our Market Guide for the Porsche 993.
