Auction Stats 
The auctions in Amelia Island are always a highlight of the industry calendar – and this year was no exception.
It started with an announcement by RM Sotheby’s that their March auction would not take place in Amelia, as it had historically, but rather 385 miles south in Miami. This move created much discussion in the industry, and increased (the already high) interest in results – which did not disappoint.
A total of 390 cars were sold across all 4 auctions taking place in both Amelia and Miami, raking in a staggering $182M in Dollar Volume. Despite a marginal decrease in the overall sell-through rate compared to last year, nearly every other metric remained within 5% of the 2023 results. This outcome underscores the resilience of live auctions in today’s market and the unwavering demand for high-quality vehicles, even in the face of prevailing market uncertainties.
Top Sales
The Top Sale of the weekend went to Gooding & Company for their $12M sale of this original 1903 Mercedes-Simplex 60 HP – only 1 of 5 known to survive. The next-highest sale was a $4.4M 1967 Ford GT40 sold at Broad Arrow, followed in 3rd place by a $4.3M 1953 Ferrari 250 by RM Sotheby's. Bonham's highest sale was #51 on the list: this $742K 1908 Napier L48.

While Broad Arrow sold the highest number of cars over the weekend, it was Gooding & Company who had the best weekend – capturing the most Dollar Volume, highest Average Price, and Top Sale.
