Total Listings are down
This year, every auction house is showing up to Monterey with a slimmer docket than years past. It’s part of a longer shift we’ve been watching for a while now. Online platforms have stretched the auction calendar year-round, and the big-name houses have responded by adding more live events to keep up. The result? Once-monolithic events like Monterey are tightening the list – less volume, but arguably better quality. Or at least better odds: sell-through rates have been creeping up all year. We’ll see if that holds.
Monterey 2025: Listings by Make
As usual in Monterey, Ferrari takes the top spot for most cars on offer this year, with Porsche close behind. Mecum is sticking to its strengths, bringing a strong showing of Chevrolets and Fords – good enough for third and fourth place, respectively. Rounding out the top ten are Mercedes-Benz (claiming 8% of the total docket), followed by Dodge, Lamborghini, Alfa Romeo, Jaguar, and BMW. The rest of the field – everything from oddballs to outliers – makes up the remaining 31%, proving once again that Monterey casts a wide net.
