We built Classic.com to fix that. And six years, 2,000+ data sources, and 3.5+ million monthly visitors later, I think it’s fair to say we did.

What’s Changing
Starting today, a paid membership is required to access advanced features of our platform – including historical pricing data that is more than 30 days old.
Here’s exactly what that means:
- Free users still have access to all “for sale” listings, market alerts, and prices as they post. Sold prices stay live and visible to everyone for one month after they are posted.
- A paid membership is required to access historical pricing data, advanced market charts and filters, and more.
- Verified Sellers continue to have full access to data and advanced insights – no changes, no action required on your part.

Why We’re Doing This
Over six years, we’ve invested heavily in aggregating data from over 2,000 sources, building a proprietary taxonomy that covers 10,000+ markets across every make, model, and variation in the specialty car world, and making it all accessible in a way that enables us to provide accurate comparable sales and value ranges for any specialty vehicle. That work doesn’t happen without a sustainable business behind it.
We had a choice to make. We could have gone the route a lot of platforms go by introducing ads… we decided not to. We’d rather have a platform that serious buyers, sellers, and enthusiasts genuinely trust than one cluttered with distractions that make it harder to find what you actually came for.
A membership model keeps our incentives aligned with yours. When Classic.com is useful to you, you stay. That’s the relationship we want.
What Is Still Free
Classic.com remains one of the most useful free resources in the specialty car market. Here’s what’s still free:
- All active “for-sale” listings — search over 50,000 active listings aggregated from over 2,000 sources including auctions, dealers, and private sellers. Buyers can contact sellers directly without any login or paywall.
- Market alerts — follow any of our 10,000+ markets and receive free alerts for new listings and sold prices as they post.
- Saved Vehicles – track the value of your cars and get email alerts when we detect new comparable sales that affect their value.
- Sold prices, for the first month — every sold price is visible to all users for 30 days after it posts
A membership unlocks the full historical record, sales comps, market charts, advanced filters, and more. But if you’re actively following markets, you can still stay informed for free.
What Comes Next
The roadmap for the second half of 2026 is packed with features we’ve been wanting to release for years – and a few that new technology has only recently made possible. Here’s a taste of what we are working on:
- Customized market alerts – tune your alerts based on the key specs you care about most – like year, transmission, location, etc – so you only hear about what matters to you.
- AI-powered vehicle insights – surfacing key characteristics and specs you need to know about every listing
- Collection-level price tracking – track the value of your entire collection in one place, not just one car at a time
- Even more data – more sources, more data sets, more specs – more everything. We will continue to expand broad and deep – building the most robust discovery and pricing resource for specialty cars.
And to be clear about what we’re not doing: don’t expect us to launch a new auction or an editorial content hub. Plenty of great companies already deliver on that front. Our job is to help you make sense of the data and make your journey through the specialty car market as transparent as possible. That’s what we’ll keep doing.
